대학생의 미래시간관점 잠재프로파일 유형에 따른 진로탐색행동, 진로불안, 진로동기의 차이

초록

This study aims to explore the types of future time perspective among college students using latent profile analysis and to examine whether significant differences exist in career exploration behavior, career anxiety, and career motivation across these profiles. Data from 281 students enrolled in four-year universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk was analyzed focusing on the four dimensions of future time perspective — valence, connectedness, opportunity, and time limit. This analysis identified three latent profiles: Indifferent Future-Oriented, Optimistic Future-Oriented, and Constrained Future-Oriented. ‘Optimistic Future-Oriented’ profile exhibited significantly higher career exploration behavior, mastery goals in career motivation, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career decision-making relatedness; and the lowest career anxiety. In contrast, ‘Indifferent Future-Oriented’ profile scored lowest across most factors. The ‘Constrained Future-Oriented’ profile showed the highest levels of career anxiety and performance-avoidance goals in career motivation and similar career decision-making self-efficacy and relatedness scores to the ‘Indifferent Future-Oriented’ profile. These findings show that college students’ perspectives of the future influence their career development and adaptability. Based on these results, the study discusses the potential career challenges that students may face and suitable career counseling and educational intervention strategies to address them.
