李時馣의 병자호란 체험 문학 연구 -救援의 서사 ｢丙丁生死錄｣-

초록

Lee Si-am (李時馣), who was highly gifted with literary talent, wrote Byeongjeongsaengsarok, reflecting on his experience during the war, which was full of chaos and absurdity. In this work, both Lee’s own and others' perspectives intersect. From his own perspective, he recounted his own narrative of his duties as an administrator during the crisis of war, thereby clarifying his position and comforting himself. From the perspective of others, by describing the chaos and absurdity of Joseon during the war, he testified to the corruption and incompetence of officials and the weakening of national discipline. Byeongjeongsaengsarok vividly conveys the writer’s own and others’ experiences through the method of ‘showing’. On the surface, it is a true story, but in terms of content, it has a strong character as a ‘socially critical dramatic piece’ that utilizes dramatic elements and devices. By highlighting the narrative of specific characters through anonymization and contrast, reproducing them through dialogue and description, and compressing the content through anecdotes and commentary, the war was recorded like a drama by placing dramatic elements of characters, scenes, and commentary (a stage aside) throughout. Byeongjeongsaengsarok which sublimates an individual’s wartime experience into a literary work, uses the tragic experience of the Byeongjahoran (丙子胡亂) as a literary material to transform past evils into present-day issues.
