조선후기~식민지기 안동지역의 면리 분포와 지명 변천

초록

This article examined the distribution of Myeon-ri in Andong from the late Joseon Dynasty to the colonial period and the change of place names. In the early 17th century, Andong and Yean were not properly settled in Myeon-ri, and the Ri of Yean was an administrative district equal to Myeon. In the mid-18th century, the Myeon-ri system was established and Sokhyeon was organized as Myeon. At the end of the 18th century, Andong County consisted of 9 Myeon in the mainland, 5 Myeon in Imha, 4 Myeon in Pungsan, 7 other Myeon, 25 Myeon in total, and 7 Myeon in Yean County, and continued until the end of the 19th century. Between 1895 and 1914, administrative district reorganization was active, and even after 1914, there was a consolidation or name change of myeon. It is difficult to know exactly the area of a specific region and the transition process of place names. In the case of the traditional era, the contents of related data may be contradictory, or there may be no proper record. The late 19th and early 20th centuries have relatively abundant records and a lot of related information is disclosed, but information that is different from the facts is repeated because related data is not properly reviewed while utilizing inaccurate research results. I hope that Andong-related researchers as well as Andong-related institutions will use the facts revealed in this article properly. In addition, I hope it will be an opportunity for other cities and counties to re-examine related content.
