도덕적 생명향상에 대한 칸트 윤리의 허용 가능성 검토

초록

This study will examine whether Kant's theory, which can be said to be the representative of traditional ethical theories, can provide a clue to the permissibility of moral enhancement. While moral enhancement focuses one motion regulation, Kant is understood to focus on controlling or overcoming emotions. However, Kant is also developing empathy and compassion anew in his later works. In addition, moral enhancement is a kind of patriarchal intervention, so Kant has no choice but to reject it. However, the feature of ‘self-patriarchy’ contained in moral enhancement may not be the destruction of unconditional autonomy. This study aims to provide an opportunity to view the existing traditional ethical position and the new ethical position of today in a complementary manner through such a review.
