The Impact of Job Engagement on Innovative Behavior: The Mediating Effect of Positive Psychological Capital

초록

This study aims to examine the impact of employees’ job attitudes on performance and to identify the underlying psychological mechanisms. To this end, job attitude was defined as job engagement, which reflects a passionate and proactive mental state related to work. Employees’ performance was assessed through innovative behavior, and positive psychological capital was designated as a mediating variable. The sample consisted of employees working in the service industry across Gyeonggi, Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Daejeon, Daegu, and Seoul. A total of 320 responses were analyzed using the R program. The results are as follows. First, employees’ perceived job engagement had a positive effect on both innovative behavior and positive psychological capital, indicating that attention is required not only at the individual level but also at the organizational level. Second, positive psychological capital was found to mediate the relationship between job engagement and innovative behavior. Finally, the study discusses its implications and limitations.
