초록

Greeting expressions are dynamic linguistic elements that combine various contextual qualities. They are categorized based on the specificity of these qualities. Greeting expressions can be categorized into four groups based on the contextual qualities and their degree of specificity. However, the boundaries between these categories are not rigid. Interchanges can occur within and between categories depending on the degree of contextual dependence. These expressions are influenced by shifting social conventions and historical contexts. Consequently, their forms and functions may change over time. This variability makes it challenging to clearly define or classify greeting expressions. To date, most typological studies have focused on elaborating the contextual factors of individual expressions. This paper argues that a typology based on the degree of contextual specificity better captures the adaptability and variability of greeting expressions.
