새로운 여성 범죄자의 등장과 일탈하는 여성들 - 조해일의 ｢갈 수 없는 나라｣를 중심으로

초록

Female serial killers are rare in Korean society. The officially mentioned the first female serial killer is Kim Sun-ja, who killed five people and seriously injured one others between 1986 and 1989 for money. Following this case was Eom In-sook’s case, who killed three people between 2000 and 2005. Aside from this case, it is difficult to find a case in Korean society that has been clearly identified as a female serial killer. Such characteristics of Korean society as related to female serial killers can be an indicator of the social status of women in Korean society. This is because serial killings have been recognized as a male-only domain for a long historical period. Therefore, this study aims to explore the meaning of women’s deviance found amidst the social changes of Korea during the 1970s, focusing on the female serial killer appearing in Cho Hae-il’s “A Country You Cannot reach (1978).
