現代漢語“不A不B”構式研究

While identifying the format of ‘Bu A Bu B’ as a type of construction, this paper closely examines the construction in modern Chinese based on corpus. In a juxtaposition relationship, if A and B have the same or similar semantics, the construction forms ‘subjective increment emphasis negative definition.’ On the other hand, if A and B have the opposite semantics, the construction forms ‘subjective decrease choice negative definition.’ The construction also establishes a conditional relationship, in which case it means ‘the behavior of B will occur only when that of A reaches a full degree of the activity.’ In terms of pragmatics, the juxtaposition relation carries functions of subjective evaluation and objective narrative, while the conditional relation highlights the salient conditional function.
