평생교육으로서의 자기교육과 종교 그리고 정치 - 키에르케고어의 글쓰기를 중심으로 -

초록

Kierkegaard, grounded in Socratic irony and Abrahamic paradoxes, sought a new form of education that embodies true humanity, true community, and true religion through “indirect” education. His education is grounded in a militant religious spirit that seeks to revolutionize the materialistic spirit. His educational theory embodies a plan to reform both the anti-humanity and anti-community inherent in the “knowledge = capital = power” paradigm. The enlightenment and liberal arts education that grew alongside modern liberalism, and the subject-centered and reason-centered educational perspectives that developed within them, need to be supplemented. To achieve this, we must pave the way for “knights of faith,” reborn through trials. This is also crucial for transcending the vulgar politics and religion that politicize religion and politics, respectively. The indirect politics inherent in Kierkegaard’s indirect education reflects a strong conviction that sacrifices life to critique the anti-politics and anti-religion of the vulgar collusion between church and state, religion and politics. His “Attack upon Christendom” exemplifies this. Our political education, or democratic citizenship education, must move beyond education that positions the people as “masters” to one that truly empowers the “people.” To this end, we must cultivate the “people” as Kierkegaard’s “one and only person,” seeking to break free from the unjust conflation of the state of reason and the religion of faith.
