대학 소재지에 따른 졸업생들의 초기 노동시장 성과:전공-직무 불일치를 중심으로

초록

This study examines the differences in labor market outcomes among sub-groups based on the locations of their high schools and colleges (Seoul vs. region), as well as instances of horizontal mismatch using the Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS). Our findings reveal that individuals who graduated from a four-year college in Seoul are less likely to be employed in mismatched jobs and tend to earn higher wages in the early stages of their careers compared to those who graduated from four-year local colleges. We further statistically confirm the differences in outcomes based on high school location using a two-sample t-test. However, we do not find significant effects in the junior college sample. Additionally, the analysis indicates that the impact of college location is more significant than the effects of horizontal mismatch for four-year college graduates. In contrast, for junior college graduates, horizontal mismatch has a greater influence on wages than the location of the college. This study highlights that the combined effects of college location and horizontal mismatch are crucial in understanding the labor market outcome differences that contribute to the trend of younger generations centralizing in Seoul.
